Our mission is to bridge the gap between therapeutic practitioners and non-English speaking marginalized communities, particularly those who speak Tamil.
In the recent decades, we have seen a surge in the adoption of diverse therapeutic modalities, including art therapy, narrative practice, affirmative therapy and trauma-informed care.
While these approaches have significantly shifted how we approach social justice and holistic well-being themes in the therapeutic landscape, it still remains largely inaccessible to the ones in most need of such approaches.
We envision a world where language and cultural barriers no longer prevent individuals from accessing the mental health support they need. Through TSTPN, we strive to create a more inclusive and accessible therapeutic landscape, where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
Through this initiative, we aim to:
Create a Robust Support Structure
TSTPN aims to anchor a supportive network for Tamil-speaking therapeutic practitioners, offering mutual support, referrals, supervision, and economic viability for their work.
Build a Resource Pool
We aim to build a resource pool with Tamil-translated therapy tools, including predominant therapy vocabulary and emotional expression resources, to enhance accessibility for both practitioners and clients.
Evolve a Replicable Model
Our long-term goal is to develop a replicable model that can be adopted for other non-English languages, expanding access to therapeutic interventions for diverse communities worldwide.
